The Angry Birds-Star Wars crossover teased by mobile developer Rovio is indeed Angry Birds Star Wars, featuring bird-like incarnations of Lucasfilm favorites such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and a pair of very ovoid robots. The download, due November 8, is to take its
gameplay cues from March's Angry Birds Space and will arrive on not only iOS devices but also Android, Kindle Fire, Mac, PC and Windows Phone.

Prior to that will be a merchandising broadside launched from the good (star)ship Rovio, with Halloween costumes, clothing, action figures and plushies heading to retail from October 28.

Visitors to the Angry Birds Star Wars page are being asked to indicate their alliegance to the red Rebellion ("rebel without a squawk") or the pig-snout green Empire ("I'm on the porkside").
