Gargantuan Chinese distributor Tencent has gotten hold of massive mobile hit "Candy Crush Saga" in a deal with game developer King.

Tencent, which already has a majority stake in Riot Games, developer of the worldwide success "League of Legends," and owns a smaller part of "Gears of War" and Unreal Engine studio Epic Games, will distribute the Chinese version of "Candy Crush" through its WeChat and Mobile QQ platforms.

The game originally launched on Facebook in April 2012 before spreading onto mobile devices in November 2012; a 2013 agreement saw it introduced to Japan and Korea in 2013.

No date was given for the Chinese debut.

One of King's more recent games, "Farm Heroes Saga," made the transition from Facebook to mobile in January of this year, while the Dreamworld expansion for "Candy Crush Saga" was rolled out in December 2013.
