"Pokemon X & Y" will feature overhauled online features, and a new trailer released during the Tokyo Game Show displays some of its new aspects.
The October 12 Nintendo 3DS release will contain air battles, mega evolutions, multiple enemies, the new Fairy type Pokemons, the
online Player Search System (PSS), and a section for feeding, patting, and caring for the collectible digital creatures as if they were pets.
And in Pokemon's North American TV spot, players are no longer separated from their pocket monsters by the interface of a portable console, but join them in their dreams -- in cities and parkland glades, on stone bridges, and atop mountain ridges.
"Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" will be the first in the 18-year series to be released exclusively on Nintendo 3DS; 2012's "Pokemon Black 2" and "Pokemon White 2" were compatible with the 3DS but pressed for the older Nintendo DS.
