There’s some good news for those awaiting the launch of Amitabh Bachchan’s fictional TV show. While speaking about making his acting debut on the small screen, the veteran star reveals that shooting for “almost 50 per cent of the entire season” has been completed.

Bachchan plays the role of a construction king in the yet-untitled 20-part series that is being directed by Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. "The whole concept of doing a TV series is exciting, and I am very happy that it’s happening,” says the superstar, adding, “Hopefully, in a couple of months, it (the shooting of the show) should be over."

Apart from shooting for this show, the 70-year-old is also juggling the gruelling schedule of his popular quiz show. And he does admit to being exhausted, "Physically, we all get tired, but we try and manage." Incidentally, the latest edition of his quiz show has fewer episodes and is being aired only on weekends.

The show’s previous seasons aired on a weekly basis. Rumours also claimed that his untitled fiction series would replace the long-running quiz show on the channel. However, Bachchan denies any such development, saying, “This season (of the quiz show) won’t go beyond November-December. As for the (fiction) TV show, we don’t know about that. My job is to finish shooting for the show… The channel decides when to air it… though it will air on the same channel.”
