Actor Aashka Goradia has been a popular face in the TV industry for over a decade now.
From a bahu to a vamp, from soaps to reality shows — she has been part of them all. Talking about playing negative roles on the tube, she says, "I’d say ‘being bad is the new good’. Such roles have helped me increase my audience base. At the end of the day, we are all actors and we would like to showcase our versatility."
Now, for a new show, the 28-year-old actor is all set to don a corporate suit and dish out financial advice to help people manage their money. "It’s a very exciting concept. I will be helping families save money, manage their wealth and multiply it too. All this will be presented in a simple way that can be understood by anyone and everyone; from an 18-year-old working at a BPO to a 45-year-old from the corporate world," says Goradia, about the show that will be aired on a Gujarati business channel.
The actor says she underwent rigorous training for the role. She went through a lot of case studies and even read up on finance. "This show was an opportunity for me to learn and read; that was the bait I couldn’t have possibly turned down, because I like to learn new things. For months, I was doing research and understanding the dynamics of the market. I have also learnt to take care of my own wealth now. In fact, I have already helped my family and a few friends with some financial tips," she says.
