After reports about a channel throwing Karan Singh Grover out of their popular show, Qubool Hai, came out recently, the actor has finally broken his silence on the issue.

"I’m very disappointed about how my image has been portrayed. It’s shocking,” says an irked Karan. The actor claims that ever since he signed the show, it was clearly stated in his contract that he’d only be part of it for a year.

"I stuck on as my relationship with Gul (Khan, producer) is good and another character on the show was leaving. I’ve been unwell in the past few months. I have to get some tests done and figure out what to do next. I told the channel that I can’t shoot anymore. I have already extended my time beyond what was promised and it’s not like I’m leaving for another show,” says Karan, negating rumours about bagging a show on a rival channel.

Karan is angry with insinuations about him coming drunk to the sets and not reporting for the shoot for days. “I think things could’ve been handled with dignity. This was uncalled for. Ajayji (Balvankar, channel head) made statements without even talking to me. He believed information misinterpreted by his team,” he says, adding, “I could file a defamation case against them, but I don’t want to.

I've always taken risks in life: Raqesh Vashisth
After much speculation about who will fill Karan’s shoes in Qubool Hai, we can now tell you that Raqesh Vashisth has been signed to play Asad.

"It’s a big risk as Karan is a star and the audience loves him. I don’t know how they will accept me. It’s a good opportunity for me, and I’ve always taken risks in life,” says Raqesh, adding that Karan is a dear friend. With Nach Baliye and a fiction show in his kitty, Raqesh knows he has his hands are full.
