His big-screen popularity notwithstanding, Shah Rukh Khan's career as a TV show host never really took off.

Besides season three of Kaun Banega Crorepati, five years back, he also hosted Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? in 2008.

The game show, aired on Star Plus, never got a second season. Until now, it seems.

Sources claim that the show is all set to make a return, with Shah Rukh as host once again. Instead of Star Plus, however, season two is to air on sister channel Life OK.

The show, produced by Siddhartha Basu's Big Synergy, is the desi version of the popular American show, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

According to an insider, "Big Synergy has approached Shah Rukh to host the show. He is the preferred choice since he a superstar and he hasn't done a TV show in a while. The preliminary talks are on."

Basu is believed have a good rapport with Shah Rukh, so the buzz is that the actor might agree to come on board.

Though the show got poor TRPs in the first season, it was a fun concept involving kids. On the show adults were asked simple questions which they had a tough time answering.

Life OK also aired the second season of Big Synergy’s Sacch Ka Saamna in 2011, which was hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal. It went on air in 2009.

Both Siddhartha Basu and Shah Rukh remained unavailable for a comment.
