You’d think you would be used to daily soaps and their convoluted twists and turns by now. But the shockers just keep coming. This time its Colors’ show Uttaran that has come up with a major twist into its plot. Actor Mrunal Jain originally entered the show as the simple pandit, Vishnu, who Meethi (Tina Dutta) falls in love with. But in the upcoming episodes, it will be revealed that he is actually an impostor, whose real name is Akash Chatterjee.

A source reveals, “Akash is a completely negative character. He’s a Casanova and makes Meethi fall for him only because he wanted to punish her mother Ichcha (also played by Tina Dutta), whom he holds responsible for his father's (Nikhil Arya) death.”

Obviously, with the change in personality, a change in the look of the character is also expected. “Mrunal will now sport leather jackets and have a flamboyant look. This will be a shock to the audience who are used to seeing his simple side,” says the source.

Uttaran is Mrunal’s biggest show to date. “He has been noticed for his performance on the show, and his role is because of its association with both Meethi and Ichcha.”

Buzz is that the actor is also on the verge of signing on a new show starring Divyanka Tripathi for another channel. In spite of repeated attempts, Mrunal was unavailable for comment.
