While most TV actors are eager to switch from the small screen to the silver screen, and wouldn’t mind signing three-film deals with production houses, Vishal Karwal has a different opnion.
"What’s with the new trend of three-film deals? I wouldn’t mind if it comes from some famous production house, but even the new producers want to sign such deals now. There are restrictions as to what projects one can undertake, and, moreover, they demand 20 per cent of your income from other projects as well. This is not done," says the actor, who is looking forward to the release of his debut Hindi film in July.
He had signed Vikram Bhatt’s horror film two years ago and has been patient with the long shooting schedule.
"It is tough to wait but I knew the role is good. We have shot the film in the UK and wrapped up in January this year," he says.
Vishal, whose last TV outing was Dwarkadheesh, in 2012, says he was bored of working in the TV industry.
"The routine of doing a TV show can get to you. But throughout my TV career, I enjoyed acting in that show the most."
