Angelique Kerber, who recently won the Australian Open, has revealed that she has lost track of the trophy she won for her maiden Grand Slam title and is eagerly waiting to be reunited with the trophy at her hometown in Germany.

After pulling off an upset win over defending champion Serena Williams in the final, the 28-year-old German opted to send back the trophy, known as the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup, to Europe instead of carrying the heavy silverware in her hand luggage on her flight back to Germany.

Kerber revealed that she was not aware of the location of her trophy and said she has a tracking number of the item through which she was hoping to get it back in the coming days, Sport24 reported.

Since her Australian Open triumph, Kerber played in Germany’s Fed Cup World Group first-round defeat to Switzerland last weekend when she beat Timea Bacsinszky.
