Residents in Mumbai are complaining about the nuisance caused by share taxis in the city. They claim that drivers double park their taxis, refuse to pick up individuals in favor of share taxi passengers, and carry extra passengers in the vehicles. Complaints have been made to the traffic police, but residents believe that there is a lack of enforcement and that the authorities are not taking sufficient action. This issue is not limited to the city center, as commuters in the suburbs have also reported similar problems.
The heavy rain combined with the high tide led to rogue waves, which brought in debris and allegedly blocked the drains. According to information from the traffic police, around half a foot of water was logged on the road at Dockyard Junction in Byculla, one to one-and-a-half feet of water in the Azad Maidan area, and one foot in Kalbadevi. Due to this, traffic in these areas was slow-moving all day.
On Saturday, rumours flew thick and fast on social media that it was being pulled down but officials associated with the development have strongly refuted these and clarified that the theatre is undergoing a makeover.
