Passenger operations, in both directions, will start from March 8 on the 34km length of RRTS.Initially, the service will be from 6am to 8pm between Sahibabad and Modinagar (north). This distance will be covered in an estimated 22-25 minutes

Traffic police have prohibited the entry of commercial vehicles from Ghaziabad district's 12 border points into Delhi due to the full-dress rehearsal and Republic Day parade. The closure will be in effect from 8pm on January 22 to January 23 and from 8pm on January 25 to the end of the parade on January 26. Commercial vehicles can use the Eastern Peripheral Expressway as an alternative route. Last year, only five borders were closed.
The quality of water in the Hindon River in Ghaziabad has improved due to heavy monsoon rains and recent flooding, resulting in higher levels of dissolved oxygen. However, downstream locations still show low levels of dissolved oxygen. The increase in dissolved oxygen is seen as a positive development but its sustainability remains uncertain. The absence of dissolved oxygen in upstream areas may be due to oxygenation as the water flows downstream.
The National Green Tribunal has ordered the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board to submit a detailed report on establishments operating without environmental clearance in Ghaziabad district. The tribunal warned that the UPPCB could be liable for environmental compensation and the officers responsible could be prosecuted for abetting pollution. The UPPCB had previously issued show-cause notices to 20 establishments for operating without consent. However, the NGT found the report submitted by the UPPCB to be unsatisfactory.
