Narendra Modi is the prime minister of India since 2014 after the BJP won the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Before becoming the prime minister, Narendra Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014. Born on September 17, 1950, Narendra Modi's association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh started at the age of eight. In 1971, Modi became a full-time worker of the RSS and rose through the ranks. In 2016, PM Modi announced demonetisation banning the currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 in his fight against black money. In 2019, the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was revoked and the state was made a Union Territory. This two remain the most significant moves taken by PM Modi.
