There are two quota places each on offer in women’s Trap, men’s Trap, women’s Skeet and men’s Skeet disciplines. However, there are no quota places at the mixed Trap event.
While others, including stalwart Manavjit Singh Sandhu withered away, Lakshay seemed to enjoy shooting. That frolic and jive won Lakshay Sheoran the biggest medal of his fledgling career, as the 20-year-old boy from Jind (Haryana) won India’s second silver on Monday.
Sandhu, topped the qualification round with a score of 119 (12 in shoot-off) while Lakshay was fourth with a score of 119 (0 in shoot-off). The competition was intense but both Indian shooters made it through to the final from the shoot-off.
