NEET UG 2024: Here's how NTA will break the tie for candidates

NTA also released a guideline of how ties between candidates with the same marks/ percentile scores will be resolved.

The correction window will open on March 18 and will close on March 20, 2024, at 11.50 pm. After this deadline, no further corrections will be permitted under any circumstances.(ANI)

10 medical colleges requested for the withdrawal of their applications for starting new PG Medical courses and an increase of seats in PG for 2024-25.

NEET UG 2024: NTA adds 14 foreign exam centres for students to attempt the exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has added 14 exam centres abroad for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2024.

NMC announces special stray vacancy round for MBBS, BDS, BSc nursing

The National Medical Council (NMC) has announced a special stray vacancy round for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing courses under All-India Quota and state quotas. Eligible candidates must pay a refundable security deposit of ₹50,000 and the round will be conducted online. The decision comes after directives from the Supreme Court.

These candidates allegedly tried to avail the benefit of state quota for the MBBS and BDS courses in more than one state by allegedly furnishing false information about their residential status

On Friday, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences issued notices to 10 candidates seeking evidence to support of their claim for state quota seats. Among these, four were debarred for furnishing domiciles of more than one state, while six were found eligible.

Agra varsity answer sheet racket: More skeletons set to tumble as ED digs deeper

Several senior authorities are under investigation for allegedly changing answer sheets of MBBS and BAMS students in Agra, with more names likely to surface. The Enforcement Directorate has arrested three individuals and will interrogate them to uncover other beneficiaries involved in the racket. The investigation began after a police complaint was lodged several months ago.

Mumbai boy tops state in NEET, secures seventh rank in country

Shriniketh Ravi, who is from Mumbai, said, “I am very happy with the result. I was not expecting this much. I studied hard for the last two years but I never compromised with my hobbies like watching football and going for runs with friends.” Ravi, who lives in Khar, wishes to pursue his MBBS from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.

This year, a total of 2,77,903 candidates were registered for the exam, out of which 2,73,819 appeared and 1,31,008 qualified. The number of candidates who qualified for this exam is much higher than last year. NMC revises age criterion for NEET UG

The National Medical Commission has revised the minimum age criterion for NEET UG, setting the cut-off date at January 31 of the year of admission, instead of December 31. The regulations also state that there will be a common counselling process for admission to graduate medical courses based on the NEET-UG merit list, and the UGMEB is responsible for publishing the model curriculum and outcome objectives on the NMC website. The new rules aim to bring transparency into the medical admission process and stop backdoor admissions in colleges against the NRI quota.

SC allows Ukraine, China returned MBBS students to clear exam in 2 attempts

A bench of Justices BR Gavai and Vikram Nath modified the Centre's suggestion of allowing them only one attempt as a one-time measure and disposed all the petitions of the medical students.
