Says associates of radical Sikh preacher, Amritpal Singh, sent to Dibrugarh in Assam are detained under the National Security Act 1980 and not in illegal custody
Police have arrested a Nihang Sikh and booked eight others for attempt-to-murder, rioting, unlawful assembly and criminal conspiracy. The accused have been identified as Nihang Mela Singh, 38, who is under arrest, and Fateh Singh, Jung Singh, Mor Singh, Rajput, Jassa, and three unidentified persons, who have been booked.
The victim has been identified as Chanddi Nihang (37) of Manimajra, Chandigarh. Police said he was admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER)
