Born Gajendra Singh Chauhan at Delhi in 1956, he did a diploma course in radiology from AIIMS before moving to Mumbai. Best known for his role as Yudhisthira, the eldest Pandava prince, in the popular television serial Ramayana, Chauhan has little else to show for his almost 35-year-long acting career. Chauhan, however, says he had acted only in a few B-grade movies, an allegation which has grown stronger after he was made the FTII chairman.
