Kohinoor Diamond

The Kohinoor is one of the largest diamonds to have existed. Mined in the 13th Century from an Andhra Pradesh village, the diamond is now a part of the crown of Queen Elizabeth II of England. Seen as a symbol of British occupation of India, the diamond has been claimed by India which demanded its return as recently as this decade. In 2013, British Prime Minister David Cameron ruled out a return of the jewel, staying it would be illogical.
