Maoist Attacks

With bases in nearly half of India’s 28 states, Maoist rebels are armed militias that are at war with the state of India and have often had bloody clashed with Indian police and paramilitary forces. Their targets have included police, politicians and business entities. The roots of the Maoist insurgency lie in the hinterlands, where the movement has held sway among many impoverished communities and villages.
