Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi is the vice-president of the Congress party and the chairperson of the National Students Union of India. He represents Amethi as its MP and beat BJP leader Smriti Irani in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Son of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul had announced his entry into politics In March 2004 and won the general elections held in May 2004 from Amethi. He never held a government portfolio during the UPA regime between 2004 and 2014.
