Jehan Daruvala has been making steady progress on the European karting circuit. At the weekend he showed an aspect which every driver must possess - fighting spirit.

Nothing went right for the Sahara Force India Academy driver throughout the weekend but he some how wriggled out of tight situations. Starting from 16th in the main final, he pulled some brilliant overtaking moves to finish fourth in the European KF3 Championships round in Ortona, Italy.

His problem started from the heats. He was bumped off in the first race and then received a time penalty in the fifth but at the same time a third place finish in the second race made sure he made it to pre-final.

He started 13th in the pre-final but after a brilliant start, which saw him jump to fifth, he was again hit from behind. But he didn’t get bogged down and managed to finish eighth.

Daruvala was delighted with his effort: “I was happy with the end result as I finished fourth in one of the biggest races I have driven, starting the final that far back on the grid. I am happy and confident for the next round of the British Championship.”
