Actor Rohan Mehra gives us a sneak peek inside his closet
In his hometown of Amritsar, Mehra used to splurge on high-end fashion brands. Shifting to Mumbai has, in some ways, led him back home
We meet actor Rohan Mehra (29) at his Goregaon apartment a few weeks after he has finished shooting for Big Boss. “Most of my clothes are still in suitcases, and at home in Amritsar,” he says. However, he enthusiastically gives us a walkthrough of his closet which mainly comprises jackets, caps and ties.
Malls to the rescue: “I love to experiment with casuals. My favourite brands are Jack & Jones, Zara, Versace and Armani. I have several belts by Gucci. I tend to go to malls a lot. In Mumbai, you’ll often find me at Palladium (Lower Parel) and Oberoi Mall (Goregaon). In Delhi, I splurge at DLF Emporium. I also shop for designer wear from Vavci, a design studio for men in Amritsar.”
All about jackets: “When I was studying in St George’s College, Mussoorie, I was obsessed with jackets. I still buy them often. Currently, I love my collection of leather jackets from Zara, and a couple of casual jackets from United Colors of Benetton.”

Couture shock: “In Punjab and Amritsar, people flaunt a lot of brands. When I was growing up, I used to wear a lot of Armanis, Diors, Burberrys and Guccis. But when I came to Mumbai for work, I immediately understood the difference. Here, people wear a lot of casual, high-street brands. I now step out in shorts and polos, and have started shopping from Calvin Klein, UCB, and Jack & Jones.”
Wardrobe staples: “I always carry a pair of T-shirts, some checkered shirts, jackets, denims, and a pair of loafers and sneakers when I travel.”

Suit up: “When it comes to formal wear, I absolutely love tuxedos. I have a huge collection of them. When I was at the Bigg Boss house, I would wear a new one every week. I often get my tuxedos stitched from my personal tailors in Delhi and Amritsar.”
Cap-it-all: “I am big on caps. I don’t like hats much, but you will find plenty of snapback caps in my wardrobe.”
