Ajay Devgn has been ruling the box office for the last few years and with Son Of Sardaar (SOS) last year, he added yet another entrant to the Rs 100 crore club. And now the film, which saw commercial success in spite of competing with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan, seems to have grabbed eyeballs even on television.

We’re informed that SOS, which premiered last weekend on Star Gold, got a 5.1 Television Viewer Rating (TVR), making it one on the highest ever on a general entertainment channel for the Hindi movie genre.

“TV premieres hold a lot of importance for films these days, unlike earlier. I’m overwhelmed with the response the film has got from the viewers, thus proving that it’s worthy of all the success. I’m extremely happy to have been associated with the channel,” says Ajay. Commenting on this development, Hemal Jhaveri, executive vice president, Star Gold, says, “The premiere has proved to be an extremely successful platform from the advertisers’ standpoint, keeping all our stakeholders happy.”

A source adds, “SOS was made for the masses and that’s exactly what the massive television audience has proved. When the makers started work on the project, their only aim was to make sure that they would entertain the masses.”
