As Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (KKK) gears up for season 5, it seems that it will be missing its star host, Akshay Kumar. The actor who has hosted three seasons of the reality show till date, apparently pulled out for multiple reasons.
The channel, Colors, was very keen to have Akshay host the fifth season, but with his wife Twinkle being pregnant, he seems to be putting family first. “Tina (Twinkle) is due to give birth around August-end or the beginning of September. So Akki will take some time off to be around her. Since the channel initially wanted to shoot around the same time, Akshay turned down the offer,” says a source close to the actor. Moreover, both Akshay and his son Aarav’s birthdays are in September.
Akshay will also be caught up with multiple film shoots immediately afterwards. “He will start a 40-day schedule for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2, besides wrapping up Khiladi 786. So, he won’t have time to take up KKK,” adds the source.
Akshay, however, seems to have promised the TV channel that he will consider the offer, if it comes next year. Presently holidaying in Singapore, he remained unavailable for a comment. In an interview to HT Café earlier, the actor had said: “As much as I loved hosting TV shows, I now want to focus on action films. Giving back-to-back dates for the small screen seems almost impossible this year.”
The channel officials said they were too busy with other reality shows to focus on KKK right now.
