A spoof of the Clinton-Trump debate with Alec Baldwin playing Trump off Kate McKinnon as Clinton helped Saturday Night Live score its biggest audience in eight years.
With Margot Robbie hosting, Baldwin as Trump and The Weeknd appearing as the show’s musical guest, the premiere for the 42nd season of the show averaged an overnight rating of 5.8, according to Nielsen.
Viewership was also up 29 percent compared to the show opener from a year ago.
As noted by Variety, it’s the strongest premiere since 2008, which also happened to be an election year and featured Tina Fey as Gov. Sarah Palin.
