From a school teacher to becoming a crorepati… life has completely changed for Taj Mohammed Rangrez, who has become the first contestant from the current season of Kaun Banega Crorepati to win a whopping Rs 1 crore.

An ecstatic Taj, who won only recently, shares, “My journey was very difficult. Show se pehle toh mujhe computer chalana bhi nahi aata tha. I never expected to win a crore. It’s all because of God’s grace.”

The 42-year-old, who is a History teacher in a government school in Fatehnagar, says that he’s now become a ‘hero’ in his school and neighbourhood. “Main toh hero ban gaya hoon. Sab mujhse haath milana chahte hai. (I’ve become hero and everyone wants to shake hands with me).

Taj has been in the profession of teaching since 10 years and says that meeting show’s host, Amitabh Bachchan, was experience of a lifetime. “Meeting Amitabhji, who is so humble and down to earth, was awesome. The memories will remain with me forever. Amitabhji ek chalte firte sant hai. (He is a living saint).”

Asked about his plans of spending the prize money (which he is yet to receive), Taj, whose seven-year-old daughter is partially blind, says, “I will use it for the treatment of my daughter. I will also use it to buy a house and in getting two orphan girls married.”
