Actor Anuj Sachdeva is popular for TV shows like Sabki Laadli Bebo (2009-2011) and Roadies Season 3 (2011). He also made his Bollywood debut with Hawaa Hawaaii earlier this year.

The actor also achieved a personal milestone recently when he shifted into his new 2BHK apartment near Goregaon.

Ask him about the toughest part of shifting into a new home, and Anuj says, "The most difficult part was getting the renovation and interiors done."

Space is, of course, a big constraint for anyone living in Mumbai; so Anuj put a lot of thought into making the most of what he had. He says, "Storage is an essential part of living anywhere. But, for me, smart storage is the way to go. A lot of places in the house are usually wasted, but I try and use them to their fullest capacity. One such area is the ceiling. It can make for a fantastic storage option. The other space is the dry balcony, where, in one corner, I have placed my washing machine, and in another, I placed a cupboard. This cupboard is for things like a vacuum cleaner, footwear, and other miscellaneous equipment."

Today, people are looking for smart-yet-stylish furniture to match their personalities and lifestyle, and Anuj is no different. "Beds with storage spaces are very important," says the actor.

While storage beds have been around for years, technology has made it easy-to-use. Elaborating on this, Anuj says, "I use under-bed storage for things that are used once in a while, like quilts and extra bedding. I use a hydraulic bed; the act of lifting it has been simplified by the hydraulic shock absorbers. When you install hydraulic shock absorbers in your bed, you just have to touch it and it opens easily. It not only helps you open it, but also holds the storage partition up on its own. This eliminates the need for another strong person to hold the partition up. I live alone, so it is difficult to find someone to help me all the time. The hydraulic pump, therefore, helps me a great deal."
