At least they’ve not forgotten us: Sherlock begins season 4 shoot

After making fans wait for two years, BBC has finally started production on the fourth season of their hit TV show, Sherlock. The TV network released a video and a note on Facebook on Wednesday to make it official.

In the video, producer Mark Gatiss, who also plays Sherlock’s elder brother Mycroft Holmes in the series, is seen walking our of mist with a clapperboard. “We are back. The game is on,” he says and snaps the clapperboard which reads ‘Sherlock IV’ with the director’s name, Rachel Tralay.

The note gives vague details on what we should expect from the fourth season and quotes from people involved with production of the show. Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Sherlock Holmes, said he is “genuinely thrilled to be back filming Sherlock with all the cast and crew. I can’t wait for everyone to see season four. But you will have to wait... though not for long... And it will be worth it.”
