Bigg Boss

We asked former inmate Sambhavna Seth and a cross-section of viewers for their take...

Sambhavna Seth, 27, Bhojpuri item girl and former inmate
I’m a viewer now and I really don’t understand what’s going on. All four of them scaled the walls over a trivial issue like tomatoes and onions. And only Rahul refused to apologise. That’s surprising because usually he’s very prompt with his apologies. I was rooting for him but now if he is evicted, Ashu stands a good chance. Frankly, I don’t care who wins. I will perform at the finale because I’m bound to do that by a contract.

Saad Asghar, 32, banking professional
I am sure Rahul will be back. The Jade Goody episode, Sambhavna’s ouster, the escape.. everything looked staged. The show is a sham!

Romila Lobo, 28, corporate trainer
Rahul’s deeds and misdeeds on the show have always seemed scripted.. and the latest one is no exception.

Ronak Bhagwat, 30, homemaker
I’m quite sure now that Bigg Boss is rigged and the latest gimmick has only reinforced my impression. Usually, whenever there is any hint of indiscipline, Bigg Boss comes on strongly. But this time his voice didn’t boom out when the four contestants were scaling the walls even though he’s supposed to know everything that’s happening within the four walls of the House. Moreover, why were two cars stationed outside the sets, waiting to pick up Rahul.. considering no one was supposed to know that he intended to walk out?

Akshat Jain, 25, student
These guys are actors. They are being paid to mouth lines. That’s pretty obvious because whenever the TRPs dip, they stage a publicity stunt. They are taking the viewers for a ride by calling for votes. The winner has already been decided.

Angshuman Dutta, 28, businessman
Whenever Raja and Rahul were nominated.. they closed the voting lines. And now, Rahul has suddenly turned self-righteous and is refusing to say sorry. Who are they kidding! Even the ‘escape’ is a gimmick. After spending three months in the House why would they suddenly develop a yearning for ghar ka khaana when the Rs 1 crore booty is up for grabs. I don’t buy it.

Rajendra Patil, 33, visualiser
Everything was planned from day one. From Jade Goody’s entry to Rahul Mahajan’s exit, it was all scripted. Just watch, either Ashutosh or Raja will be declared the winner.

Cauvery Parijat, 27, banking professional
I would have loved to believe that the show is not rigged but recent incidents have been only raised my
suspicions. Rahul was nominated umpteen times.. and was still around. I don’t think he has that big a fan following. I guess, both Raja and he were ‘saved’ because they are popular and the channel couldn’t afford losing either. Then, they brought in Payal (Rohatgi) and Sambhavna for a week because Diana (Hayden) and Monica (Bedi) were thanda and they wanted masala. The two ladies obliged readily. Then in the recent escape bid, what was going on? Why was it blacked out..after all, every other controversy has been given so much airtime.
