Neelu Waghela will no longer be seen on the show that turned her into a household name -- Diya Aur Bati Hum. The actor plays Bhabho in the popular series that has been ruling the ratings for the last three years.
Ask her about her move and she says, "I don’t want to talk about it right now."
However, sources cite her health issues and long shooting hours as the primary reasons for her exit. The show’s producers, Shashi and Sumeet Mittal, were unavailable for comment.
According to reports, in September, Neelu had fainted on the sets due to high blood pressure and a severe acidity attack. She was hospitalised for a few days, but as the story track needed her, she continued shooting under the supervision of a nurse on the sets.
In March, too, the actor was diagnosed with a cyst in her neck due to the heavy jewellery and heavy sari pallu that her character is required to sport.
Neelu’s character, the strict and formidable mother-in-law Bhabho, is a pivotal one. She was cast in her role because of her background in Rajasthani films. The show is about a woman who dreams of becoming an IPS officer, and her sweetmaker husband, who supports her ambition.
