A few years ago, AB Corp’s film Viruddh ran the tagline – ‘Family comes first’. Needless to say, this continues to hold true for Amitabh Bachchan whose Kaun Banega Crorepati is most sought after for filmmakers to promote their forthcoming movies. Recently, Action Replayy, toplining Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was chosen over the Imran Khan-Deepika Padukone romcom Break Ke Baad.

It’s another thing that the youthful romcom releases three weeks after the retro musical, which opens in cinemas this Diwali. But apparently all marketing tie-ups are finalised after the host approves or rejects the offer. And our source reveals that Big B opted for the Action Replayy team to shoot a promotional episode on his KBC sets.

Action ReplayyInterestingly, just a week ago, Bachchan called Padukone since one of the contestants on his show wanted to speak to her. "Deepika had responded immediately and expressed joy at being called by the legend because her fan on his show wanted to talk to her," said a friend of the BKB star, adding that Padukone was looking forward to participating in the quiz show on Monday.

However, the BKB team was surprised when they were informed of the cancellation. Instead, the day saw the Action Replayy team play the quiz game with Big B. For now, the actors and debutant director Danish Aslam are believed to be consoling themselves with the fact that Big B is doing his bit to promote their film everytime he says, ‘Milte hain ek break ke baad,’ before every commercial break.

When contacted, Kunal Kohli, who’s producing the film with Reliance Big Entertainment, confirmed the news saying, "Yes, our KBC shoot got cancelled. Now we’re waiting to hear from the channel for another date." As for the channel, its spokesperson chose to remain unavailable to comment.
