From being a judge on a reality show, Superstud, Sofia Hayat will now be a participant in another. The actor, who has done a few films, none of which have garnered much attention, is the latest entrant in the ongoing Bigg Boss season 7.
“It was a good opportunity to be on a popular show. Salman (Khan; host) is India’s number one actor, so why not? I think this experience will teach me a lot. I am quite an independent person and make my own choices. But in the house, I won’t be making all the decisions myself as I will have to follow the rules. It will teach me patience,” says Sofia, adding, “I would like to do an item number with Salman Khan but he has to have his shirt off in it.”
She has been watching the show and thinks that she might be able to hit it off with contestant Elli Avram. “From the first impressions I gathered, she is the only person I really like in the house right now. Instead of competing, Elli and I might be good friends. I didn’t like Armaan much as he looks argumentative and like a bully.”
She might be yet another foreigner in the house but her spoken Hindi is much better than Elli’s. “At times, I make mistakes, but I would like to be able to count in Hindi by the time I get out,” she says.
Born and bred in England, Sofia has had a tumultuous past. Reportedly, her parents didn’t want her to pursue acting as a career and made efforts to keep her at home.
“I am not in touch with my parents, but am in contact with my brother. I have very few close friends in London. In India, there’s (model-turned-actor) Udita Goswami. I am self-sufficient and don’t need people to make me feel happy or secure.”
Sofia had also made her singing debut in 2010.
Andy invited Gauahar Khan’s wrath during a task on Bigg Boss, by making crude remarks on her lingerie. She got upset and told Andy that he was a cheap person. Later, Kushal Tandon got infuriated and ended up assaulting Andy.
Though the other housemates tried to stop Kushal, he continued to abuse him. Due to his violent behaviour, he was asked to immediately leave the house. Like a true friend, Gauahar too decided to leave the house with him.
