Indian TV’s blockbuster reality show, Bigg Boss has reportedly approached the founder of Bhumata Ranragini Brigade activist Trupti Desai for its 10th season. The confirmation was tweeted by ANI on Monday.

Trupti has been in news of late for championing the cause of gender equality in the country. She shot to fame by entering places of worship where women are prohibited. Her protests led to the Bombay High Court’s ruling uplifting the ban on women’s entry into the Haji Ali Dargah on August 26.

However, Trupti has set a condition she wants fulfilled before accepting the offer: She wants Bigg Boss to be voiced by a woman and not a man.

“I am ready to enter into the (Bigg Boss) house. During my meeting with the TV channel and its producers, I conveyed them that if they rope in a female as the voice of Bigg Boss, I will accept the offer,” Desai told PTI.

“I have not given them any confirmation and had told them during the meeting to give a thought over the condition and get back to me. I know, for them it is difficult to replace the male voice with female for this season, but if they assure me that they would rope in a female as voice of ‘Bigg Boss’ in the next year season, I would accept the offer.”

Desai said it won’t be easy for her to stay in the house for a long time as she has campaigns lined up for coming months, but believes Bigg Boss is a good platform to promote male-female equality.

“Since there are several campaigns on various issues lined up in next few months, it would be very difficult to stay in the house for a long time. However, the platform of ‘Bigg Boss’ will be a good medium to spread our message about equality.”

This season of the reality show will also be hosted by Salman Khan. In fact, a new teaser was released on Monday itself. Check it out:

In the latest season, the show has invited general public to participate. However, reports say it will be a mix of celebrities and common people inside the house.

Bigg Boss is a reality TV show on the lines of the British show Big Brother. The show’s format keeps participants locked inside a house for three months with no access to the outside world.
