Television actor Pooja Misrra, who was a contestant in Big Boss 5, filed a case on Wednesday against unidentified persons for criminal assault with intent to outrage her modesty, police said.
In her complaint, Misrra told police that some unidentified persons entered her room at Hotel Raddison Blu in Udaipur and outraged her modesty while she was in deep sleep early in the day.
After lodging a case under sections 354 and 379 of the Indian Penal Code, police sent her for a medical examination. Police took custody of the hotel’s CCTV footage for investigation.
Misrra said she noticed marks on her body when she woke up at around 6 am and called the hotel management to find out who had entered her room at night, police said.
A team led by deputy superintendent of police Gopal Singh Bhati and Ambamata police station chief Jitendra Anchalia rushed to the hotel to investigate.
Police said the model had been in Udaipur since Saturday for a calendar her production house is planning to launch soon.
Talking to the media, the actor said she suspected the hotel’s housekeeping staff had a role in the incident since she had ordered a coffee on Tuesday night before going to sleep.
Anchalia said Misrra had also filed a criminal petition in a Mumbai court and that she had mentioned this in her complaint with the police in Udaipur.
She also alleged in the FIR that her jewellery worth lakhs of rupees, which she had bought in Delhi, had been stolen from her hotel room.
