The dance reality show, Chak Dhoom Dhoom that started on Colors the same weekend as Dance India Dance L’il Masters on Zee TV, wrapped up last Saturday. And even before it ended, buzz was that the second season was underway.
Deepak Dhar of Endemol, the production company helming the show, confirmed the news: "We are going ahead with Season Two for sure. But the format may change a bit. Colors has given it the go-ahead. We might continue with kids, introduce adults or have a mix of both as contestants. It’s too early to comment on this."
Chak Dhoom Dhoom opened with 4.5 points, while Dance India Dance L’il Masters flagged off with around 7 points. The ratings continued to be competitive, with the Zee kiddie dance reality show leading the pack.
Bring this up and Dhar says, “Chak Dhoom Dhoom got great ratings in the weekend slot so we have nothing to complain about. It was packaged well and provided stiff competition to other shows in the genre. If it wasn’t doing well, Colors would never have agreed to a second edition.”
Will choreographers Saroj Khan, Ahmed Khan, Bosco-Ceaser and Pony Verma continue as judges? Dhar says, “They were excellent judges — objective and fair. We would love to have them on board again. But it would depend on their schedules. If they have the dates, we’ll always have space for them.”
