The wait is over. A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Daadisa will be back in Balika Vadhu and now news is that she returns to the top-rated show tonight. Actor Surekha Sikri, who was unwell and had taken a sabbatical to recuperate, was back on the show’s sets on Friday. Her entry sequence was shot with most of the show’s actors at the studio in Vasai-Nalasopara, where Balika Vadhu has been shot for the last two years.

“We were really happy to see her back,” says Pratyusha Bannerjee, who plays Anandi, the central character, and Surekha’s granddaughter-in-law in the Colors daily. “When we were informed about her exit, we were really upset because she was the lifeblood of our show. We knew the storyline would be altered big time to accommodate her absence. Over the last three months, we have tried to find ways to keep the show going without her,” she adds.

The actor’s entry takes place at a time when the Singh family is going through troubled waters. “I’m glad her entry is happening as smoothly as her exit. There are times when things just happen in a jiffy. Fortunately, her entry was meaningfully planned.

Jagya too (Shashank Vyas) had gone missing from the show. Now even he’s back, so I’m sure we’ll be okay now,” says Pratyusha. “We were afraid that the ratings would dip. They did, but now we’re sure they’ll soar!”
