The dancer-actress has agreed to be part of the forthcoming season of Zara Nachke Dikha on Star One. Her spokesperson says, “We are bound by the contract to not speak about the show or about our participation. You’ll have to wait for official announcements.”
However, our sources inform us that she wasn’t aware that the channel had also approached her ex-flame, actor Abhishek Awasthi, for the same dance contest. Ditto Awasthi.
“But now, they are both on board. So, they won’t behave like spoilsports. They will continue to be part of the show, and according to the format, may even be asked to present a dance item together. Maybe then, sparks will fly the way they did when they were dating, while participating on Nach Baliye Season 2,” says our source from the channel.
Meanwhile, Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh, the winners of Nach Baliye, Sangeeta Ghosh, who has been keeping a low profile since Virasat ended on Star Plus, Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande, better known as Manav and Archana from Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV and Siddhesh Pai and a girl participant from Zee TV’s Dance India Dance Season One have been finalised for the show.
Karan Singh Grover (Dr Armaan of Dill Mill Gaye and the host of season one) and Angad Hasija (Alekh of Sapnaa Babul Ka Bidaai), are also on board, along with Kritika Kamra and Karan Kundra, the leads of Kitani Mohabbat Hai on Imagine.
Apparently, comedians Paresh Ganatra, Bharati Singh and Saloni Daini and actress Rashmi Desai, Tapasya of Uttaran, have also been approached to participate in the dance-reality show.
Since there were two kiddie participants on the show in season one this year, Ayush Khedekar, the popular Slumdog Millionaire actor, and Sparsh Khanchandani, the kid who played little Iccha in Uttaran on Colors, are expected to compete with each other.
Sources indicate that the channel was undecided on the choice of jury and host. Several actors, including Sanaya Irani, Karan Wahi, Surveen Chawla and Mohit Sehgal, had been approached with offers to host the show.
It’s said that Wahi (Dr Sid of Dill Mill Gaye) and Chawla had been signed on but were replaced by Irani and Sehgal, who play Gunjan and Samrat respectively on Miley Jab Hum Tum on Star One.
As for the jury, buzz is that Shahid Kapoor was approached, but he declined, citing date hassles. The show is expected to go on air shortly after IPL 3 ends on April 25. The show is being produced by Fazila Allana’s SOL Productions.
