Delhi girl Aanchal Khurana has become the first girl to win the reality show MTV Roadies in five years. Khurana faced daredevil stunts, bizarre tasks and abusive language to beat the competition from all the guys on the show.
“I came on the show to prove that girls can do anything that boys can,” says Khurana. One of the toughest tasks she had to face in the past three months involved balancing herself while being hosed by gushing water. “Even the boys had a tough time on that task,” she says.
Currently enrolled in an acting school in Mumbai, Khurana did a course in fashion designing from Delhi’s Janaki Devi Memorial College.
The 22-year-old who auditioned for the show without telling her parents, is now hopeful that the win will help her in the glamour world. “Winning the show is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life. Working in films or TV is an option I would love to explore once I’m done with my course,” she says.
Khurana also defends the show against rigging charges. “I want to tell everyone that it is not at all rigged. Unexpected twists and turns are an integral part of the show which people mistake for it being scripted.”
