Hussain Kuwajerwala on bagging another reality show
You are only seen on reality shows these days. What’s happening to regular soaps?
Well, Kumkum was always there but it wrapped up barely six months back. And reality shows are the need of the hour. Now, I’m considering movies and am meeting up new directors.
I’m also spending more time with my family. Also, I believe that when you take a break, you take a step forward. So I’m back with DPL which is on air now.
DPL is a dance show based on a cricket format. Like the IPL, there are six teams competing against each other. Every episode we have the man of the match and the marks are also termed as runs. It’s a do or die situation every week.
What is happening to your movie But Adi Loved Sanjana?
I am clueless. And I have no hopes for it either.
You are almost a complete package performer with being an actor, an anchor and a dancer. What is it that you want to experiment with now?
I will never try singing because I am horrible at it! But yes I want to try my hand at comedy for sure.
How about taking up serials like Krishna Arjun again?
It is the best show I have done so far. So, even though I’d love to do a Krishna Arjun again, it’s too taxing, as it requires a lot of action sequences. Jostling between the sets of Kumkum and Krishna Arjun would drain me out completely even back then.
Do you regret not taking up the lead role in Bhaskar Bharti.
I had no choice. I didn’t have the required dates.
Ekta Kapoor reportedly doesn’t want to repeat old faces in her shows. Where does this leave you?
I don’t know. I am happy for the new faces. It happens in every field. New faces means lower costs so it’s good for the production companies.
