Iqbal Khan turned down the role of Karan in a TV show attempting a new version of the Mahabharata, due to personal reasons.

Iqbal confirms the news saying, “Yes, I was offered the role, but I didn’t take it up. The shooting will take place in Gujarat, but I won’t be able to stay away from my young daughter and family for a long duration.”

The actor, however, would have taken the role if it required only two to three months of outdoor shooting. But since the show demands lavish sets and outdoors scenes, the shooting will take place in Gujarat as per the requirements of the makers. “Family comes first. I don’t want to stay away from my wife and one-and-a-half-year-old daughter,” says Iqbal.
