Fathers are pillar of strengths, a guiding support and role models — not just for us but for our TV actors too. Today, on Father’s Day, they share memories of the time they spent with their dads.
Actor Rashami Desai’s father may be no more but he’ll always be around. Rashami says her dad is her “angel power”. “He is always around to protect me. Now, I only have his memories. I miss him a lot.” She also talks of some happy times with him, like how he’d get her “hot sandwiches and bhel puri”.
Father’s Day is every day for actor Ashish Chowdhry. “It is always my father who makes my and my mother’s day special. He is my role model. I always try to be as good as him,” he says adding, “I am not as good a writer as he is. I want to write a good poem and gift it to him.”
Jagjit’s Singh’s ghazal, Woh Kagaz Ki Kashti reminds actor Ssharad of his childhood days he spent with his father. He says, "My father used to take me out for weekends every Saturday. We used to eat at the best places. Every time I hear Woh Kagaz Ki Kashti…it reminds me of him."
While Mother’s Day has always been celebrated in actor Nakuul Mehta’s house, he now makes an effort for Father’s Day too. “I’ve started trying to reach out to the one man who’s been the pillar of my family. Spending time with him has been our way of bonding and celebrating this day,” he says.
For actor Aishwarya Sakhuja, her father’s support counts a lot. “Not a single day passes without him saying that he is proud of me. I remember, when I got admission in a reputed Delhi college. There were only 25 available seats but I was among the top rankers. My father was very happy about it,” she says.
