Pakistani sensation Fawad Khan may have made his Bollywood debut last year, but it was the small screen that led him to our living rooms, and well, our hearts, too.
The charming actor, who made women go weak in the knees as the casanova Zaroon in Zindagi Gulzar Hai and the suave Asher in Humsafar, is back on the tube to work his magic. This time, Fawad will be seen essaying an entirely different character in Zindagi’s new show, Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam.
A timeless love story set in the 1940s, the show is touted to enrapture the audience with a charm at par with the classic tales of love and longing, such as Romeo-Juliet and Heer-Ranjha. Fawad is paired with another noted talent from across the border, Sanam Baloch, who plays the role of Bano.
Happy to be back on Indian television, Fawad says, "The mere fact that our shows are being equally appreciated in India is proof of how closely knitted the people of both the countries are."
Talking about his new show, the 33-year-old adds, "Zindagi is airing some projects that are dear to me. I am overwhelmed with the positive response of the viewers in India. This show is a period drama set in Ludhiana of pre-divided Punjab. It is a beautifully written and very well executed drama, and I am sure that viewers will get hooked to it."
