Orissa’s Prince Dance Group, winners of India’s Got Talent Season One, will be back on stage for the closing ceremony of the second season on Colors. Anandis Pratyusha Bannerjee and Avika Gor from Balika Vadhu and the team of Khichdi- The Movie will perform too. The show flagged off on July 30 in the weekend primetime slot on the channel.
Punjab’s Sikh martial arts group Bir Khalsa; drummer Teji Toko from Arunachal Pradesh; Shillong Chamber Choir from Meghalaya; Fictitious Dance Group from Mumbai; Sonjoy Mondol Group from Kolkata and popping and locking expert, Harihar Dash from Orissa were chosen by public votes.
Dancer duo, Diwakar and Sonia from Delhi and Mumbai; sand artists Manas Kumar Sahoo and Group from Orissa and rock band Underground Authority from Kolkata were selected by judges Sajid Khan, Sonali Bendre and Kirron Kher, in an episode shot last Saturday. Programming head, Ashwini Yardi, believes that moving into smaller cities and towns helped. “We had an exciting mix. The tension is nail-biting because each performer is unique. So I don’t know which one to pick as my bet.”
So, would there be season three? Siddhartha Basu, CMD, Big Synergy, confirms, “Yes, we’re looking forward to returning next year with India’s Got Talent Khoj 3.”
