Toshi Sabri, a former contestant in a television reality show, was stabbed by at least two assailants Andheri, northwest Mumbai, late Sunday.
Sabri was walking near a railway track with a friend when he was attacked. Deputy commissioner of police K.M.M Prasanna told IANS Monday the victim also suffered head injuries.
Sabri was rushed to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle, around 3 km away. He was recuperating and out of danger, Prasanna said, adding that Sabri's friend was unharmed.
The victim had been among the 12 finalists on the Voice of India reality talent show on the Star Plus channel.
After being voted out once, he bounced back into the main contest through a wild card entry based on his popularity. He was finally eliminated on November 2 last year.
