Singer Harshdeep Kaur will soon make her TV debut through an unconventional show, Gurbani. The show to be aired on Colors, will see Kaur taking viewers through a heartwarming journey that describes the fate of brides in Punjab, who are abandoned by their NRI grooms.

“I am delighted to be a part of a fiction show for the very first time,” says Kaur, adding, “It is a story of a girl that I am narrating in verses. The song and the verses gives me goose bumps whenever I hear it.” Set against the backdrop of Punjab, the show has been shot in various picturesque locations in and around the state, and is expected to be a visual treat complete with historical spots, phulkari dupattas, mustard fields and the Punjabi culture and fanfare.

A professional Punjabi folk singer, the 26-year-old sung the famous song, Ik Onkaar... in the movie Rang De Basanti and has henceforth belted out various hits including Jugni... from the film Cocktail and Katiya Karoon from the film Rockstar.
