Highlight Story

2009 movie Watchmen was much appreciated by the critics but still could not do well on the box office.

This 2009 movie may not have been a blockbuster but it sure did work wonders with a lot of superhero comic lovers. Zack Snyder struck the right cord with the fans of the franchise with Watchmen, a dark, cult superhero movie about a group of heroes like Dr Manhattan and Rorschach.

And now, news is that the amazing movie is coming to the small screen, all under the blessing of director Zack Snyder himself.

HBO has confirmed it to Entertainment Weekly that, “preliminary discussions regarding Watchmen have occurred but we have no additional information and no deals are in place.” Well that is enough to make us happy.

Even upon its release, many were of the opinion that the story and the intricate plot was better suited for a series adaptation than a movie. All the characters- Nite Owl, Dr Manhattan, Rorschach, Silk Spectre and Ozymandias had a lot more to offer than what the movie could do justice to.

If everything falls into place, perhaps this will be HBO’s next big thing after Game of Thrones which might end after season 8.
