Divyanka Tripathi, Srishty Rode and Rithvik Dhanjani.

From televisions and cars to the customary gold, on the auspicious day of Dhanteras, actors talk about what they plan to buy this season.

Srishty Rode

I want to buy a new car this Dhanteras. I always buy a gold coin on this auspicious day and I might not want to break the tradition this year as well. I pray that Goddess Lakshmi blesses everyone and also wish that my bank account is always loaded (laughs). Jokes apart, I wish all my fans a happy Diwali and Dhanteras

Gautam Rode

(Hindustan Times)

It is usually a normal working day for me but I do try to buy something for my mom as she believes that the day is auspicious. It’s a day of positive energy and the start of Diwali which burns a hole in the pocket but hopefully brings a lot of good luck.

Vivian Dsena

Every year I gift something to my wife or buy something for my parents. I would buy gold as it is considered auspicious and has high resale value too. I pray to the Goddess to keep us all blessed. I wish a very happy Diwali to my fans and hope that they buy whatever they had dreamt of buying this year on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras.

Rithvik Dhanjani

I’m planning to take the three most important women in my life — my mother, sister and Asha (girlfriend) shopping and I’ll let them buy whatever they want to on this special day. This will be my way of celebrating the auspicious day. I don’t think there can be anything more special than making your loved ones feel happy and pampering them on this day. Wish a very happy Diwali to all.

Ravi Dubey

I buy silver or gold coins every year. This year I will do the same. I wish that Goddess Laxmi keeps us happy and capable forever. Sargun (Mehta) is my life partner, which I am grateful to God for and my career is going good too, what more do I need in life? I am very grateful to God for the opportunities that I have got in my life and I’m happy for everything coming my way.

Manjari Fadnis

I’ve bought a lot of things this year, most importantly I have bought a house. With such a major investment already done, I’m going to take a break on Dhanteras this year. I’m not going to get anything new for now because I’ve done enough in the first half of the year. I just want to wish my fans a very Happy Diwali.

Ssharad Malhotra

Like every year this time too I’m looking forward to buying something for the house. It can be anything — may be an artifact, a painting, cutlery, furniture or I may even gift myself the latest gadget available in the market. Last year I bought some gold as the markets were very favourable at that time and it was the best time to invest.

Divyanka Tripathi

This year I’m planning to buy a television set. It is high time that I upgrade my TV and Dhanteras is the best time to do it. Last year I bought a gold coin as I didn’t have much time to make a choice. I hope that this festive season brings happiness and joy for all my fans. It is the perfect day for people to buy new things and I hope that they get to buy whatever they want to

Mohit Malik

I would like to buy a new car. There are very few models of cars I like and I have passed my wishlist to my wife —Addite. Let’s see what she does. We will probably buy some metal or gold because it is considered auspicious to buy something on Dhanteras. I would ask Goddess Laxmi to keep everyone happy. I won’t ask for money but I’d like to pray to keep all my friends, family and myself happy.

Asha Negi

I have never really consciously made a decision to buy something on Akshay Tritiya or Dhanteras. But usually if I know that such a day is right around the corner, I don’t mind postponing my purchase or delivery. My family does buy a small token of gold on such days for good luck since it’s considered auspicious.
