We take a look at the actors who got a taste of success with the acclaimed sitcom Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai in 2005.

The much loved sitcom Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai was hugely popular when it aired in 2005 and the fact that it still remains a favourite for many viewers is proof of it’s success. While there were acclaimed actors Ratna Pathak Shah, who played Maya Sarabhai, and Satish Shah, who played Indravadan Sarabhai holding fort, some other actors stood their ground and shined on the show.

Rajesh Kumar played the younger brother Roshesh, an effeminate character and a momma’s boy. The manner in which he said “momma” to his poetry dedicated to his mother to his father always teasing him, Rajesh played Roshesh with aplomb. The show’s success led to a successful career in acting for him as he went on to doing numerous sitcoms such as Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale, Chintu Chinki Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story, Neeli Chatri Waale, among others.

While Sumeet Raghavan had been an actor since 1983, the success he saw with this show is unparalleled. He played Dr Sahil Sarabhai who tried to maintain balance in the house. He was always stuck between his mother Maya and wife Monisha. Sumeet underplayed the role and saw a rise in popularity on the show. He went on to doing numerous TV shows such as Ghar Ki Baat Hai, Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo, Badi Door Se Aaye Hain among others.
