Your last TV show was Ishq Ka Rang Safed. You will soon be seen on the tube after an eight month hiatus. Do you like taking long breaks between projects?

I did the show for four months. Workwise, I am in a relaxed frame of mind. I like coming back to TV with a bang. So, instead of doing a wrong project, I would rather take a long break and wait for the right one. I don’t believe in saying, ‘I am reading scripts but nothing good is coming my way’, because that is a fake line many (actors) use. The reality is, even if you try for the best projects sometimes you don’t get a call. There are many newcomers entering the industry today and the audience wants to see new faces. There is room for every kind of actor. But when a producer needs a performer of a certain calibre, they think of established names.

After a thriller TV show, Ek Hasina Thi, and a horror web-series Gehraiyaan, now you are working on a romantic drama on TV. What do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy working on everything, as I feel I am growing as an actor. Each day I learn something from my mistakes and my performances. This helps me as I am competing with myself. People loved me in Ek Hasina Thi, but I feel, had I done the show today, I would have performed better. There is always room for improvement as an actor. I am thoroughly enjoying the various genres, as I am not repeating myself and that is exciting. At this juncture of my career, I want to do projects that make me happy and make a difference to my career as well.

How was the experience of shooting a horror show?

We shot for over a month for it, and working with Vikram Bhatt (film-maker) who is the master of the horror genre was great fun. He is such a “chilled out” person and I am glad I did this project. In fact, it was funny shooting horror scenes. People ask me if I was scared while shooting them, but I wasn’t. In fact, I got scared when I saw the episode because it had background scores and special effects. I realised that shooting for horror scenes is taxing as one has to shout and scream a lot..

Hehheeheh🙈 #onlocation #prankster 🙈😂
