Rapper Baba Sehgal is getting into the act again with SAB TV’s Jugni Chali Jalandhar. He plays a typical Punjabi Jat, the elder brother to the main lead Karan Godwan who is still scared of his bauji played by the yesteryear villain Ranjit.

Education helps
This Deeya and Tony Singh production tries to dispel the myth that educated girls don’t make good bahus. But isn’t this an outdated concept? “I don’t go by logic. If I like the story and character, I take it up,” says Baba.

His previous show, Yeh Dil Chaahe More, on Star One didn’t do too well. “It ran for over a year,” he argues.

Even in Yeh Dil... Baba played a loud and boisterous brother. He says he would like to try out different characters now. “I would love to play an underworld don,” he grins.

Baba, who has also been a part of Bigg Boss Season 1, won’t make any comparisons between the two seasons. “All I can say is that the concept rocks,” he says.

Back to music
His next venture is a music album. He plans to launch it in a couple of months. He’s not too happy with the present music scenario. He says, “Things were different 18 years ago when I made my debut with Thanda thanda pani. Piracy and downloads have destroyed CD sales.”
